Be’s gray hair came early from years spent guarding the wild borders of Vitry as a Guard Captain of the Obsidian Watch, where vigilance was measured in blood and silence. When his watch ended, he laid down his insignia and turned away from the line—joining Ashsong in search of a purpose the border no longer afforded him.

Blacksmithing became both craft and confession. In Trecassis, Be forges weapons, tools, jewelry, plate armor, and leather armor, shaping iron with patient precision and little ornamentation. Those who work with him note the care he takes with certain sigils and materials, though he offers no explanation.

Though he no longer stands a post, Be still watches the horizon at dusk. He speaks little of the corruption in the wildlands, and when pressed, his views sit uneasily beside accepted belief—as if the horrors beyond the border were not merely enemies to be destroyed, but forces to be understood, respected… or bargained with.
